Nick Emmanwori cleared to return to practice with Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori has passed his physical, clearing him to return to practice after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle. The procedure was performed to address lingering soreness stemming from an injury sustained during Super Bowl LX.

While the update is considered encouraging, Emmanwori’s availability for the preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys is unlikely. There is also no guarantee he will be ready for the regular-season opener against the New England Patriots on September 9.

To compensate for Emmanwori’s absence, the Seahawks may increase the roles of D'Anthony Bell, rookie Bud Clarkmore, or cornerback Julian Neal. Emmanwori is a versatile player for Seattle, capable of playing nickel, safety, and linebacker.
