Nick Emmanwori injury and recovery status
Overview
Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list following ankle surgery performed in early July. Head coach Mike Macdonald indicated that the team had no specific timeline for his return, stating, “We’re not sure on Week 1 yet.”
Emmanwori subsequently passed his physical and was cleared to return to practice after the arthroscopic procedure, which addressed soreness from an injury sustained during Super Bowl LX. Despite this progress, his availability for the preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys remains unlikely, and his readiness for the regular-season opener on September 9 is not guaranteed. To manage his absence, the Seahawks have considered increasing the roles of players such as D’Anthony Bell, Bud Clarkmore, or Julian Neal.
