Nicki Minaj Faces Multiple Lawsuits Over Unpaid Legal Fees and Production Costs

Rapper Nicki Minaj is confronting two separate civil actions in the United States. A California law firm, Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP, alleges she owes $229,541 in unpaid legal fees for representation in a copyright infringement case involving her 2014 song “I Lied,” and is seeking a default judgment after she failed to respond to the filing.

Separately, a New York production company, 24/7 Productions, has sued Minaj for more than $275,000 linked to expenses from her 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball performances and the Pink Friday 2 rollout. Minaj’s attorneys have moved to dismiss her personal liability, arguing the claims should be directed solely at her company, Pink Friday Productions, LLC, which offers limited‑liability protection under New York law. No court rulings have been issued yet on either case.
