Nicolò Bulega clinches 2026 Superbike World Championship
Nicolò Bulega has mathematically secured the 2026 Superbike World Championship, becoming the second Italian to achieve this feat after Max Biaggi. The 27-year-old has dominated the season, maintaining a two-round lead over his competitors despite Iker Lecuona securing three victories during the recent weekend in Cremona.
Bulega has already broken six records this season, including ten consecutive pole positions and eight triple podiums out of ten possible races. He also holds 25 fastest laps from 30 races. As the season moves toward the final rounds in Portugal and Jerez, Bulega has the opportunity to challenge historical benchmarks set by Doug Polen in 1991, Jonathan Rea in 2017 and 2018, and Alvaro Bautista in 2023.
Following his tenure in Superbike, Bulega is scheduled to move to MotoGP in 2027, where he will ride for the VR46 Team Ducati.
