Nicolas Winding Refn's 'Her Private Hell' Trailer Unveiled for Cannes

Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, known for Drive and The Neon Demon, released the first teaser trailer for his new sci‑fi thriller Her Private Hell. The trailer was presented in the out‑of‑competition night programme of the Cannes Film Festival.

The film is set in a futuristic metropolis shrouded in a mysterious fog where a deadly entity roams. It follows Elle (Sophie Thatcher), a young woman searching for her missing father, and an American soldier (Charles Melton) who embarks on a quest to rescue his daughter.

Neon will distribute the movie in the United States, while Italy’s release is scheduled for 7 September via Mubi and Hungary’s theatrical run is planned for autumn 2026. The soundtrack is composed by Italian maestro Pino Donaggio. Refn said returning to cinema “is almost like entering a strange forest where everything is a bit undefined.”
