Nicolás Pino re-elected president of Sociedad Rural Argentina

Nicolás Pino has been re-elected as president of the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA) for the 2026–2028 term. During the 162nd Ordinary General Assembly, Pino secured his position in what was described as one of the most contested elections in the institution's 160-year history.

Reports on the vote count varied slightly, with one indicating Pino received 64.6% of the votes (1,441 votes) against Marcos Pereda's 26.6% (592 votes), while another reported a 71% majority. Carlos Odriozola will continue as vice president. The assembly also approved the institution's balance sheet and memory.

For his upcoming term, Pino outlined several key priorities, including increasing competitiveness, reducing tax pressure, and improving infrastructure and credit access. Notably, he reaffirmed the SRA's stance on advocating for a permanent legal framework of “zero retentions” (export taxes) to support Argentine production and international market integration.
