Mersin launches student support and housing programs
In Mersin, local authorities and the Ministry of Youth and Sports are implementing comprehensive support programs for incoming university students. Through an adaptation program, students arriving at bus terminals and airports are being greeted and guided to state dormitories. Ten student dormitories in the city provide a total capacity of 16,407 beds.
Mersin Metropolitan Municipality is also providing various social services to facilitate student integration. This includes assistance with housing, nutrition, and transportation. Specific supports include subsidized meals for 35 Turkish Lira, discounted bus passes for 15 Turkish Lira, and access to municipal dormitories, libraries, and study halls. Additionally, the municipality offers non-refundable tuition assistance for students residing in Mersin during their first year of study.
