Niğde Police Detail 287 Arrests, 48 Wanted Captured in Weekly Sweep

During the week of 22‑28 June 2026, the Niğde provincial police and gendarmerie launched extensive security operations. Authorities processed 287 individuals, of whom three were sentenced to prison. Forty‑eight previously wanted persons were apprehended and handed to the courts. Seventeen drug‑related suspects were detained, resulting in two additional imprisonments. Seizures included 195.6 g of synthetic cannabinoids, 9.76 g of raw material, 1.98 g of cannabis, 0.64 g of methamphetamine and one synthetic pharmaceutical product, as well as a firearm, ammunition and a motorcycle. Law‑enforcement teams also confiscated 272 packages of illegal shisha tobacco.

In anti‑terror and migration actions, one foreign national was arrested on terrorism‑related grounds and seven irregular migrants were detained for deportation. Forensic investigations solved four theft incidents, identifying three perpetrators.

Traffic inspectors examined 28,930 vehicles, fined 1,693 drivers for violations and removed 164 vehicles (including 29 motorcycles) from the road. Additional camera‑based checks resulted in penalties for 385 vehicles and drivers.
