Niefern-Öschelbronn: Fraudster posing as police officer steals valuables

In the Niefern district of Niefern-Öschelbronn, a fraudster posing as a police officer successfully stole cash and valuable gold coins from an elderly man. The perpetrator contacted the victim by phone, claiming a robbery had occurred in the neighborhood and that several suspects had been arrested. The fraudster convinced the man that his valuables needed to be taken into police custody to prevent theft.

A man, described as being between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 175 to 185 centimeters tall with a sturdy build, a round face, and black, slightly curly hair, arrived shortly after the call. Dressed entirely in black with a full black beard, the individual collected the items in a brown leather bag and fled. Criminal investigators are currently searching for the suspect and seeking witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity in the Ostendstraße/Schauinsland area on Tuesday evening.
