Nigel Farage links home attack to Ann Widdecombe murder

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) London has reopened an investigation into an incident at Nigel Farage’s London home, which the Reform UK leader claims is ‘directly linked’ to the murder of Ann Widdecombe.

The incident at Farage’s residence involved what was described as a ‘lit incendiary device’ pushed through his letterbox in April 2025. While the initial investigation was closed without arrests, detectives have identified a new line of inquiry that was not pursued at the time.

Following the reopening of the case, CTP London referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The watchdog is investigating allegations that a staff member failed to identify and pursue a specific line of inquiry regarding the attempted burglary/attack.

Ann Widdecombe, a former Conservative minister and Reform UK spokeswoman, was found dead at her home in Devon last month. Joshua Kerry has been charged with her murder and was also arrested on suspicion of terrorism-related offenses. Farage criticized previous police handling, stating that Reform UK figures had been ‘treated very differently to everybody else’ until the Widdecombe tragedy prompted renewed focus on their security.
