Niger announces 200 MWp solar power project in Niamey

Niger has announced a new 200 MWp solar power plant project in Niamey to bolster its energy sovereignty and support industrialization. The contract, valued at 126.1 billion FCFA, was signed with Niger Electricity Power Production.

The project includes a battery storage system and is expected to be completed within 24 months. Under the 20-year agreement, electricity will be sold to NIGELEC at a rate of 35 FCFA/kWh, with the facility being transferred to the State upon the contract's conclusion.
