Niger graduates 5th promotion of State Staff Course at School of Higher Military
On 22 July 2026, Niger's School of Higher Military held a ceremony to graduate the fifth promotion of its State Staff Course. The event was chaired by General Salifou Mody, Minister of State and Minister of National Defence. Thirty‑six officers received their diplomas, including 23 from the Nigerien Armed Forces, four from the National Gendarmerie, four from the National Guard, and five from partner Sahel nations – Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea and Chad. All graduates passed, with a 100 % success rate and 27 earning honors. The three top graduates, all Nigerien, were Captain Mahamadou Hamani Tahirou, Commander Hamidou Amadou Ousseini and Captain Chaibou Attahy.
Since its founding five years ago, the School has trained 174 staff officers from Niger and friendly countries. General Mody highlighted the institution’s role in strengthening regional defence cooperation and underscored its contribution to Niger’s sovereign security capabilities.
