Niger Tornadoes FC to launch women’s team and address scoring issues

Niger Tornadoes FC plans to launch a women’s team, Tornadoes Queens FC, before January 2027. Club Chairman Abubakar Kuso announced the initiative during a strategic football stakeholders’ meeting aimed at improving football development and professionalism in Niger State. The new team is intended to provide a platform for female players to develop their talents and compete in the women’s league.

On the pitch, Technical Adviser Kabiru Suleiman Dogo is addressing goal-scoring difficulties facing the men's team in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Following a goalless draw against Warri Wolves at Bako Kontagora Stadium, Dogo noted that the team has scored only once in the last three matches after a strong start to the season. He has called for patience from supporters to avoid placing undue pressure on the squad's young players.
