Niger Tornadoes FC organizational and competitive status

Overview

Niger Tornadoes FC is undergoing organizational and competitive shifts. The club announced plans to launch a women’s team, Tornadoes Queens FC, by January 2027 to foster female talent and professionalism in Niger State.

On the competitive front, the men’s team is struggling in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Following a period of goal-scoring difficulties, the club entered a five-match winless streak, resulting in a 17th-place standing. Technical Adviser Kabiru Dogo and Captain Ifeanyi Okoye have addressed these challenges, citing lapses in concentration and a rebuilding phase following significant player departures. Okoye emphasized the need for improved performance to avoid relegation, noting that the club has maintained support through renovated facilities and timely salary payments.
