Niger Tornadoes struggle in NPFL amid winless streak

Niger Tornadoes head coach Kabiru Dogo attributed his team’s narrow defeat to Nasarawa United at Lafia City Stadium to a loss of concentration. Following the match, Dogo congratulated his former club on their victory while noting that the team was punished for their lapses.

The club is currently struggling in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), sitting 17th on the table after a five-match winless streak consisting of three losses and two draws. Captain Ifeanyi Okoye has called on his teammates to improve their performance to avoid the threat of relegation, emphasizing the hard work required to achieve their previous promotion.

Okoye noted that the club has provided support through renovated facilities and timely payments of salaries and bonuses, placing the responsibility on the players to deliver results. The team is currently undergoing a rebuilding phase following the departure of many players from the previous season's squad.
