Nigeria and EU to discuss African investment at economic summit

The Nigerian Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank (EIB) Boost Africa Project Team, will host an Investment Partnership Lab on October 26, 2026. The event will take place during the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja.

The session aims to bring together government officials, European development institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to explore development finance, grants, and technical assistance for Nigeria’s infrastructure and productive sectors. A central focus will be the Boost Africa initiative, a joint project by the EIB and the African Development Bank (AfDB) supported by the European Union.

Boost Africa has already secured over €100 million in EIB investment commitments for venture capital funds, targeting sectors such as technology, agribusiness, financial services, and renewable energy. The program seeks to leverage approximately €1 billion in total investments across Africa to attract private capital and support entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth.
