Nigeria international economic partnership initiatives

Nigeria is actively engaging in international collaborations to drive economic development and empowerment. In October 2026, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, met with representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Romania, and Türkiye at the RISE conference in Belgrade. These discussions focused on expanding economic opportunities for women through initiatives such as a proposed Nigeria-UAE Economic Forum and a Global Village Trade Fair.

Concurrently, the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning is collaborating with the European Investment Bank (EIB) through the Boost Africa Project. During the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, an Investment Partnership Lab was scheduled to explore development finance and technical assistance for infrastructure and productive sectors. The Boost Africa initiative, supported by the European Union, aims to leverage approximately €1 billion in total investments to support entrepreneurs, specifically targeting women and youth in sectors like technology, agribusiness, and renewable energy.
