The 2026 CAVB African Beach Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, concluded with Morocco and Nigeria securing continental titles and Olympic qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
In the men’s competition, Morocco’s Zouheir Elgraoui and Soufiane El Gharouti successfully defended their title, defeating Algeria in the final to secure their spot for the 2028 Olympics. The Moroccan women’s team, represented by Alexandra Erhart and Nora Nezha Jihane Darrhar, earned a silver medal after falling to Nigeria in the final.
Nigeria’s women’s team, composed of Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa, claimed the gold medal by defeating Morocco 2-0, marking a historic achievement as they secured Nigeria’s first-ever Olympic qualification in beach volleyball. This victory ends a 16-year Olympic drought for the nation in the sport.
Host nation Egypt finished the tournament without medals, as all four of its competing teams failed to reach the podium, resulting in the country missing out on Olympic qualification through this event.
