Nigeria and Netherlands condemn Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and Yemen
Nigeria and the Netherlands have issued condemnations following recent Houthi militia attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the attacks, which occurred on September 7, 2026, injured numerous civilians and damaged infrastructure in the Kingdom. Nigeria warned that the renewed hostilities pose a grave threat to regional stability and could disrupt global energy supplies, urging all parties to exercise restraint and respect international law.
Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen expressed solidarity with those wounded, emphasizing the Netherlands' commitment to working with international partners to strengthen regional security. The Dutch government highlighted that attacks on civilian targets threaten regional peace and increase risks to vulnerable populations, calling for continued international efforts to contain tensions and prevent further escalation.
