Nigeria Aquatics Federation unveils 15 swimmers for African championship

The Nigeria Aquatics Federation (NAqF) has announced a 15-member junior team to compete in the 2026 Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Junior Swimming Championship in Dakar, Senegal. The delegation consists of 11 female and four male swimmers.

This competition serves as a key component of the federation’s preparation for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, scheduled for late October and early November. The championship is intended to provide the athletes with international exposure and allow technical staff to assess their readiness for higher-level competition.

Led by coach Christopher Ezemegwalu, the team will participate in a series of events, including the “Swim to the Future” competition in September and the National Intermediate Games in October, to maintain a rigorous training and competition schedule.
