Nigeria bandits kill dozens in Taraba, Sokoto and Kebbi states
In the Lau local government area of Taraba state, armed bandits killed five people, kidnapped the village head Jauro Tace of Garin‑Magaji and later released him after a ransom was paid. Hundreds of Fulani, mostly women and children, fled their villages and sought refuge in Garin‑Dogo after the attacks.
In Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto state, bandits stormed a mosque in Tsamaye village around 8:30 PM, killing seven worshippers and abducting several others before leaving early the next morning.
In the Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi state, bandits attacked the Tudun Bicci community, killing four security operatives – two forest guards and two local villagers – while a soldier was reported missing. Local officials linked the violence to bandit camps in neighbouring Zamfara and Niger states.
