Nigeria Boosts Renewable Energy with Training College and Hydrogen Pilot

President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to renewable energy during a media tour in Kogi State, where officials inspected the Barefoot Renewable Energy College and a Green Hydrogen Research and Demonstration Pilot Plant. The projects are highlighted as part of the administration’s Energy Transition Plan, aiming for net‑zero emissions by 2060 and targeting skill development, job creation and diversification of the energy mix. A senior aide said the initiatives “reflect the administration’s commitment to renewable energy development, human capital investment and clean energy innovation.”

Impact‑investment firm All On announced further investment in Nigeria’s clean‑energy sector, marking a decade of expanding off‑grid energy access. At a “Decade of Impact” hackathon, CEO Caroline Eboumbou emphasized the firm’s role in fostering young innovators to develop practical, commercially viable solutions for sectors such as healthcare, agriculture and education. All On, originally seeded by Shell, continues to support affordable and reliable energy for low‑income households and small businesses.
