Nigeria Christian leaders call for unity to confront rising insecurity
Senior Pastor Dr Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre addressed the second Solemn Assembly of Northern Christian Stakeholders in Abuja, organized by the Stefanos Foundation. He urged Christians across Nigeria to speak with one voice, stressing that division is the greatest threat to the Church and that collective action can overcome security challenges.
Enenche highlighted the foundation’s 25‑year record of violence, noting more than 9,000 Christians killed, about 79,000 injured, 8,000 kidnapped and 17,404 abducted, with over 500 communities attacked. In June alone, the foundation recorded 113 incidents resulting in 293 deaths, 44 injuries and 255 kidnappings. He called for stronger collaboration among Christian, traditional and community leaders under the “One For Nigeria” initiative to promote peace and protect vulnerable communities.
