Nigeria Customs seizes bus with military uniforms and synthetic cannabis

The Ogun I Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service in Idiroko intercepted an unregistered luxury passenger bus on the Sagamu–Ore–Benin Expressway around 1:30 am on Sunday. Acting area controller Oladapo Afeni said intelligence‑driven surveillance revealed the vehicle, which had evaded several checkpoints from Lagos to Ogun, was loaded with military camouflage apparel and illicit drugs.

A full inspection uncovered 197 camouflage trousers and shorts, five two‑piece uniforms, 32 mixed camouflage tops, as well as 154 parcels of synthetic cannabis known as Canadian Loud and seven parcels of Colorado. Customs estimated the street value of the seized items at over N259 million. Two suspects were arrested, the contraband and detainees handed to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation, and officials warned that unauthorized military apparel could facilitate criminal impersonation.
