The Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) praised Comptroller‑General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for ordering the release of trucks seized at the Zarmak Bonded Terminal, Mile 2, Lagos, saying the action prevented financial losses for its members. AMATO National Secretary Mohammed Bala Sanni thanked Adeniyi and AMATO President Remi Ogungbemi for their leadership in securing the trucks and supporting trade facilitation.

Separately, the Nigerian Customs Service said the Comptroller‑General was misquoted in a report alleging ₦34 trillion in import‑duty waivers since 2000. National Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Wada explained that waivers are intended to stimulate manufacturing, energy and health sectors, and are approved by the Federal Ministry of Finance. He noted that beneficiaries include military hardware, CNG and electric vehicle programmes, industrial machinery, healthcare supplies and food interventions, and that the National Assembly is reviewing the matter.
