Nigeria Defence Headquarters debunks AI-generated video of CDS

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has debunked a viral video that purportedly shows Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, making partisan political statements. Military authorities clarified that the video is an artificial intelligence-generated fabrication designed to mislead the public and misrepresent the position of the CDS.

Major-General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information, stated that the manipulation was intended to bring the Armed Forces of Nigeria into disrepute. The DHQ reaffirmed that the military remains a professional, apolitical, and non-partisan institution committed to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Authorities condemned the deliberate creation and circulation of the fake material, warning those responsible and those knowingly amplifying the video to desist. The public is urged to disregard the claims and rely solely on official DHQ communication channels for accurate information.
