Nigeria expands climate‑smart agriculture training for communities

A non‑governmental organisation, Ecosphere Blue‑Green Solutions, held a two‑day capacity‑building programme in Lafia, Nasarawa State, training 146 residents in climate‑smart agriculture, tree‑planting and erosion control. Managing Director Adamu Alhassan‑Hussaini highlighted the aim of encouraging afforestation and improving attitudes toward the environment.

The Leprosy Mission Nigeria, in partnership with The Leprosy Mission Sweden and supported by the Swedish Mission Council, will train 2,180 people from disability‑focused communities across six states and the Federal Capital Territory. The initiative includes 30 master trainers, digital‑technology instruction, and the provision of assistive tools to boost agricultural productivity among vulnerable groups, with a view toward long‑term climate resilience.
