Nigeria Housing Ministry partners with Judiciary to address housing deficit

Nigeria’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has pledged to include judicial officers and court personnel in its nationwide housing interventions. The commitment was made by Minister Muttaqha Rabe Darma during a meeting with the Administrator of the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Justice Babatunde Adeniran Adejumo.

The partnership aims to support the ‘Renewed Hope Housing Agenda’ as the government seeks to address a national housing deficit estimated at 15 million units. Minister Darma stated that housing projects will be implemented across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, ensuring the judiciary is integrated into these efforts.

In response, Justice Adejumo expressed the NJI’s readiness to collaborate, offering support through human capacity development, training, and the use of the Institute’s resources and facilities to advance the housing agenda.
