Nigeria Immigration Service arrests 55 irregular migrants in Osun

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Osun State Command has arrested 55 irregular migrants across various locations in the state. The detainees, identified as nationals from Cameroon and Congo, reportedly entered Nigeria through unauthorized routes without valid travel documents or passports.

Osun Comptroller of Immigration, Abraham Akinyemi, stated that the arrests were the result of intelligence gathering. He noted that the migrants were operating an unregistered online business, identified by the detainees as ‘QNET’, which is not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Some of the individuals were located in the Owode-Ede community. Akinyemi indicated that the command is continuing its search for other individuals who may be hiding in the state and confirmed that the arrested migrants are being processed for repatriation.
