Nigeria: INEC reports uncollected voter cards in Taraba

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reported that 29,314 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) remain uncollected in Taraba State. Sa’ad Idris, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Taraba, disclosed this during a stakeholders’ meeting in Jalingo focused on election preparedness for the 2027 general elections.

In a separate development in Benue State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a warning regarding a suspected fraudulent loan scheme. The party claims individuals are visiting markets and villages under the guise of offering loans and empowerment schemes to collect PVC details and photographs. The PDP warned that this could lead to voter identity theft or disenfranchisement and has called on residents to report suspicious activities to the police and INEC.
