Nigeria initiatives focus on impact investing and diaspora networks
Efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s economic landscape are advancing through new initiatives focused on capital access and professional networking. The Impact Investors Foundation (IIF) has announced its 9th Annual Convening on Impact Investing, scheduled for November 25 and 26, 2026, in Lagos. The summit, themed ‘Unlocking Institutional Capital for Nigeria’s Impact Economy,’ seeks to address the gap between large domestic capital pools—such as pension funds, insurance companies, and banks—and investment-ready enterprises that drive social and environmental impact.
CEO Etemore Glover stated that the convening will bring institutional investors together as partners to design a stronger impact economy. The event aims to explore how these large-scale funds can better contribute to the real economy and address national development challenges.
In a separate development, the Limitless Without Borders (LWB) 4.0 Lagos event was held on August 15, 2026. Founded by Rukayat Alabi, the platform aims to connect Nigerian founders with the expertise and investment networks of the diaspora. The initiative focuses on helping entrepreneurs access international skills and funding, such as the UK Innovator Founder Visa, without the necessity of relocating from Nigeria.
