Nigeria investment summits in Abuja
Overview
Nigeria is hosting several high-level investment summits throughout 2026 to attract international capital and strengthen economic ties. In August, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission and Al Yaro International Limited scheduled the second Nigeria–Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit to deepen trade in energy, agriculture, and healthcare.
The government is also preparing for the 2026 Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference (NIDEC) in Toronto, Canada. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, described the event as a strategic platform to attract investment and increase foreign exchange inflows, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘4Ds’ foreign policy agenda: Demography, Development, Democracy, and Diaspora. A delegation including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila aims to connect investment-ready projects with high-net-worth individuals to convert annual diaspora remittances, which exceed $20 billion, into equity and businesses.
Following this, the Business Summit Group announced the International Investors Summit Nigeria 2026 for November 10 and 11 in Abuja. Group President Haider Uzzaman stated the summit aims to mobilize over $100 billion in investment commitments, prioritizing “structured, existing projects with proven track records and viable business models.”
Additional economic initiatives include the Impact Investors Foundation’s 9th Annual Convening in Lagos on November 25 and 26, themed ‘Unlocking Institutional Capital for Nigeria’s Impact Economy,’ and the Limitless Without Borders (LWB) 4.0 Lagos event held on August 15, which connects founders with diaspora expertise. Concurrently, Central Bank of Nigeria data shows April 2026 capital inflows reached $2.82 billion, a 256.9 percent increase from April 2025, though this was a decline from March’s $3.85 billion.
