Nigeria launches gas‑power infrastructure map and hosts new energy expo

Nigeria's government will unveil the Nigeria Gas & Power Infrastructure Map at the 25th NOG Energy Week in Abuja. Developed with the Gas for Africa programme and NNPC, the map provides a consolidated view of pipelines, processing facilities, power plants, LNG terminals and transmission networks, accompanied by a strategic report covering the sector since 2020 and outlining the NNPC Gas Master Plan 2026.

From 16‑18 September 2026, Lagos will host the Nigeria International New Energy & Power Industry Expo (NNEPIE) alongside the Nigeria International Lighting Expo. The trade show aims to connect international equipment makers, mainly from China, with West African distributors and utilities. Organisers expect around 500 exhibitors and more than 8,000 buyers from 28 countries, showcasing photovoltaics, battery storage, grid equipment and smart‑city lighting. The event targets Nigeria's chronic electricity deficit, which leaves about 85 million people without grid access and drives high diesel‑generator costs, encouraging rapid growth in off‑grid solar and storage solutions.
