Nigeria Pentecostal leaders urge action on insecurity and political engagement

Pastor Femi Emmanuel, head of Livingspring Chapel International, criticised the widespread involvement of church leaders in partisan political debate, describing many pastors as ignorant of politics and urging Christians to engage at the grassroots level rather than relying solely on prayer.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, opened the International Conference on African Pentecostalism 2026 in Redemption City on the Lagos‑Ibadan expressway. He called on Pentecostal leaders and scholars to develop practical, implementable solutions to Nigeria’s security challenges—including kidnapping, insurgency, farmer‑herder clashes and communal violence—stressing that faith must translate into concrete action and policy recommendations.
