Nigeria Police Arrest Suspects in Vehicle Theft Syndicates

The Oyo State Police Command recovered a stolen tricycle in Ilorin, Kwara State and arrested 31‑year‑old Akindele Seun after an intelligence‑led stop‑and‑search operation, according to spokesperson Ayanlade Olayinka. The suspect admitted robbing the tricycle’s owner at gunpoint before fleeing to Oyo State, and the vehicle has been taken into police custody while investigations continue.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command announced the arrest of trailer driver Temitope Omotayo Odulaja and four accomplices suspected of operating a trailer‑dismantling syndicate. The arrests, made in Lagos and Ijebu‑Ode following technical intelligence, were detailed by DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi. Detectives recovered the trailer’s head and other components, and the police commissioner, Bode Ojajuni, praised the operation as a breakthrough in combating organised vehicle theft, urging vigilance from transport operators and the public.
