Nigeria Premier Football League drives digital growth, secures CAF funding for clubs

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has renewed its partnership with financial services firm Afrinvest to accelerate digital transformation across all 20 clubs. A workshop in Enugu trained media and marketing officers on branding, data collection and fan engagement, urging clubs to generate reliable statistics and reduce reliance on government funding.

Separately, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) introduced a new solidarity payment of $100,000 (about ₦136 million) for clubs eliminated in the preliminary rounds of its Champions League and Confederation Cup. The rule guarantees a financial cushion for Nigeria’s four representatives – Enugu Rangers, Rivers United, Shooting Stars and El‑Kanemi Warriors – ahead of the 2026/27 season.
