NPFL‑Afrinvest digital transformation
Entities: Nigeria Premier Football League · Afrinvest · Rivers United · Emmanuel Eleojo · Davidson Owunmi
Overview
In late July 2026 the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) renewed its partnership with financial services firm Afrinvest, launching a media and marketing workshop in Enugu. The program trained club officials on branding, digital visibility, data collection and fan engagement, with the goal of building sustainable revenue streams beyond government support and creating a centralised data repository for the league’s 20 clubs.
A few days later, the NPFL highlighted the same partnership’s progress and announced that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) would provide a new solidarity payment of $100,000 to clubs eliminated in the preliminary rounds of its continental competitions. This funding, aimed at Nigeria’s four representatives, complements the digital‑growth initiative by offering a financial cushion for the 2026/27 season.
