Nigeria Premier Football League Nears $7.5 Million Title Sponsorship Deal
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) is in the final stage of negotiations for a new title‑sponsorship agreement worth about $7.5 million, which the league expects to announce before its Annual General Meeting on August 7. Chairman Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye said the deal will not only provide financial backing but also support a digital transformation plan, including the creation of a dedicated social‑media department staffed by journalists, content creators and young media professionals.
In parallel, the NPFL is engaging leading Nigerian entertainers to join a fan‑engagement campaign, with agreements expected to be signed in the coming days. The league also reaffirmed its commitment to an August‑to‑May calendar and to maintaining club licensing deadlines, aiming to boost visibility and fan interaction across digital platforms.
