Following the operation, Tinubu announced a series of security reforms: the Nigerian Army will be expanded from eight to twelve divisions to shorten response times, a new state police force will be created with safeguards against abuse, and forest guards will be retrained and equipped as frontline assets. He praised the armed forces and traditional rulers, including the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, who met him at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Tinubu also warned that the government would target the families and communities of the kidnappers as part of the broader anti‑kidnapping strategy.
