Nigeria’s Junior Female YellowGreens secured the top spot in Group A of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier after defeating hosts Tanzania by 57 runs in Dar es Salaam.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Nigeria posted a total of 133 for 7 in their 20 overs. Omosigho Eguakun led the batting with a Player of the Match performance, scoring 50 runs from 46 balls. Peace Usen contributed 32 runs, while Deborah Bassey added 14.

In response, Tanzania was restricted to 76 for 8. Jennifer Godwin led the Nigerian bowling attack with figures of 2 for 9 from two overs, supported by Chisom Okpe, who took 2 for 14. Tanzania’s highest scores came from Captain Saumu Hussein with 29 and Rahma Yahaya with 21.

With this victory, Nigeria completes a perfect group stage with six points, having previously defeated Uganda and Malawi. They will advance to a semi-final match against Rwanda.
