Nigeria security forces dismantle criminal syndicates and bandit hideouts
Security forces in Nigeria have conducted successful operations against criminal syndicates in Kaduna State and the Federal Capital Territory. The Nigeria Police Force Special Tactical Squad arrested three members of an armed robbery and car-snatching syndicate, identified as Ahmed Saidu, Alex Gabriel, and Ahmed Mahudu. The suspects allegedly operated under the direction of Yakubu Yewa, a suspected kingpin currently in custody at Kuje Correctional Centre. Investigators claim Yewa continued to coordinate the group's activities and the disposal of stolen vehicles across international borders. Two vehicles, a Toyota Corolla and a Volkswagen Golf, were recovered during the arrests.
In a separate operation in Makarfi Local Government Area, the Kaduna State Police Command and the Kaduna State Vigilante Service dismantled two bandit hideouts used to hold abducted victims. The dawn raid targeted enclaves in the Durum and Danguzuri areas near the Kano State boundary. Authorities reported that normalcy has been restored to the area following the joint security patrol.
