Nigeria security forces conduct widespread raids and rescues

Security forces in Nigeria have conducted a series of successful operations against terrorists, kidnappers, and armed criminals across multiple states.

In the North-West, troops from Operation FANSAN YAMMA reported significant achievements. In Katsina State, a dawn offensive in the Yantumaki Forest resulted in the death of one terrorist and the recovery of motorcycles, a mobile phone, and medical supplies. In Sokoto State, military operations in the Magarya forest led to the recovery of a PKT machine gun, AK-47 rifles, and large quantities of ammunition. Additionally, troops rescued 25 kidnapped victims in separate operations across Katsina and Zamfara States.

In Delta State, police successfully rescued a 60-year-old man from kidnappers in Agbor and arrested 10 suspects during a raid on a brothel in Abbi. In other operations, firearms and illicit drugs were recovered.

Nationwide police efforts have also yielded results. The Nigeria Police Force reported the arrest of at least 24 suspects and the rescue of six kidnap victims across five states between September 2 and 4. In Enugu State, the police command reported a 17-month milestone of rescuing 211 kidnap victims and detaining 6,240 suspects. In Nasarawa and Benue, Operation Whirl Stroke troops arrested a suspected kidnapper and rescued an abandoned victim.
