Nigeria volleyball teams prepare for African championships

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation has announced preparations for upcoming international competitions. The 12-player women’s national squad has departed for Nairobi, Kenya, to compete in the 2026 Women’s African Nations Volleyball Championship, which is scheduled to run from August 23 to September 5.

Simultaneously, the federation has invited 22 players to begin camping for the 2026 African Men’s Volleyball Nations Championship. This tournament, which was relocated from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Tunis, Tunisia, is set to take place from September 13 to 27. The men's team will be led by Japanese head coach Ryan Masajedi.
