Nigerian Airstrike Targets Boko Haram in Borno State, Dozens Killed

The Nigerian Air Force conducted an air operation in the Yaganari area of Borno state, striking Boko Haram positions. spokesperson Ehimen Ejodame said the raid killed dozens of militants, wounded many others, and destroyed several insurgent shelters. Explosives, weapons and ammunition were recovered, and officials said the attack further limited the group’s ability to regroup and move freely.

Boko Haram has been active in northeastern Nigeria since the early 2000s, responsible for thousands of deaths and displacing hundreds of thousands of people. Since 2015 the group has also carried out attacks in neighboring Cameroon, Chad and Niger, contributing to a broader regional security challenge.
