Nigeria Places N60 million Bounty on Top ISWAP Leaders

The Nigerian Army’s Joint Task Force (Operation Hadin Kai) announced a total bounty of N60 million for information leading to the capture of senior Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) commanders. The reward offers N50 million for the group’s governor, Abu Musa Al‑Mangawi Baa Shuwa, and N10 million for his deputy, Muhammad Jidda, known as “The One‑Handed Man.” A smaller reward is also attached to the capture of Hamad Abu Hanifa, the group’s Amirul‑Fiya.

The bounties follow an intelligence breakthrough after troops recovered technical devices, including a camcorder, during recent offensives in the Lake Chad basin of northern Borno State (Mangari‑Metele‑Dogon Chukun axis, Abadam and Kukawa LGAs). Forensic analysis of the seized material identified the commanders’ locations and networks.
