Nigerian Army conducts operations against terrorists in Niger and Kaduna

The Nigerian Army has conducted several operations targeting suspected terrorists across Niger, Kaduna, and Zamfara states. In Niger State, troops from the 18 Brigade intercepted armed men in the Kontagora Local Government Area following intelligence regarding their movement. The resulting ambush and gun battle led to the rescue of 16 previously abducted victims. Military forces also recovered two AK-47 rifles, three rocket-propelled grenade bombs, 33 motorcycles, assorted ammunition, and 4.1 million Naira in cash.

In Kaduna State, troops from Operation Fansan Yamma arrested a suspected terrorist, Auta Maikyala, at a hospital in the Kagarko Local Government Area. Maikyala had reportedly sought treatment for a gunshot wound sustained during a clash with a rival group. Investigators link him to community attacks, kidnappings, and cattle rustling.

Additionally, military operations in Zamfara State targeted militant hideouts in the Maradun Local Government Area. The Nigerian Air Force also conducted airstrikes on suspected locations in the Maru Local Government Area, specifically targeting areas linked to wanted terrorist leader Dogo Gide to disrupt planned attacks.
