Nigerian Army graduates over 3,000 recruits at Ebonyi State depot

The Nigerian Army held a passing-out parade on Wednesday at the newly established Amasiri‑Edda depot in Ebonyi State, commissioning more than 3,000 newly trained soldiers. Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu praised the recruits for their discipline and pledged that the expanded training infrastructure will bolster the army’s capacity to address Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, speaking at a state banquet honoring the COAS, highlighted the depot as a strategic investment that strengthens force generation and regional stability. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting the army’s operations and to deepening civil‑military cooperation across the South‑East.
