Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (Sector 9) carried out an early‑morning raid in Pandam Forest, Qua’an Pan LGA, Plateau State, rescuing eight victims of a kidnapping. The operation, launched after credible intelligence, faced sporadic gunfire as suspected abductors attempted to flee. Three hostages escaped during the initial clash and five more were recovered after further clearing of the forest. The rescued individuals were reported safe and efforts to reunite them with families continue, while soldiers pursue remaining suspects.
In a separate operation in Anambra State, the Joint Task Force South‑East (Sector 5) seized three members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network, along the Ogboji‑Ajali axis in Orumba South LGA. The security team, acting on intelligence, engaged the suspects in a firefight, killing the three operatives and recovering a PKM machine gun, two AK‑47 rifles, ammunition, four improvised explosive devices, communication gear, a laptop and related documents.
