Nigerian military conducts multi-state operations against terrorists and bandits

The Nigerian military has conducted a series of successful operations across several states to combat terrorism and banditry. In Borno State, troops of the 162 Amphibious Battalion repelled a simultaneous two-front assault by ISWAP terrorists on Forward Operating Base Mandaragirau. The engagement resulted in the neutralization of several insurgents and the recovery of AK-47 rifles, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and other combat equipment.

In Anambra State, the 15 Brigade dismantled three suspected IPOB/ESN camps near the Ihiala-Ogbaru boundary. The operation led to the death of three suspected members and the recovery of explosives, including 15 sticks of dynamite, and various firearms.

In Niger State, troops rescued nine kidnapped individuals in Mariga and recovered stolen livestock, including 47 cattle and 18 sheep, in Rijau. Meanwhile, in Zamfara State, security forces intercepted a courier, Sani Umar, transporting 180 units of 20mm Super Power explosives intended for terrorists in Katsina State.

Other notable actions include the rescue of construction workers in Kebbi State and the recovery of 22 passengers following a boat hijacking in Akwa Ibom State by the Nigerian Navy.
