Nigerian Army troops rescue two victims from terrorists in Zamfara
Troops from Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, rescued two individuals being targeted by armed terrorists along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Zamfara State. The rescue occurred during a routine patrol on October 4, when soldiers intervened as terrorists attacked two people traveling on a motorcycle. The intervention forced the attackers to flee, allowing the troops to secure the victims.
In a related effort to bolster regional security, Major General Bemgba Koughna, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, conducted inspections of forward operating bases across Zamfara State. The tour focused on assessing tactical deployments, defensive infrastructure, and logistics readiness. Koughna emphasized the need for an aggressive operational posture to dismantle terrorist enclaves and protect residents throughout the state.
